DNV KEMA adds China base to focus on clean power and grid

China faces the challenge of wind-power expansion and grid improvements

DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability is setting up a regional headquarters in Beijing to focus on China’s burgeoning clean-power sector and its transmission needs.

The Netherlands-based energy consultancy and testing specialist says the new Asia-Pacific HQ will target opportunities such as helping China to meet the “great challenge” of boosting wind power while improving an already-congested grid network.

DNV KEMA and the China Electricity Power Research Institute are already co-operating on the integration of renewable energy sources, including by setting up a pilot project to study the behaviour of a wind farm at the point of grid-connection.
