E.ON and MPX on course to seal Brazil partnership by July

Germany utility giant E.ON and Brazilian power group MPX have signed the final contracts for the joint venture they announced in January, and are poised to create what they claim will be Brazil’s largest private energy company.

The new venture will be active in conventional and renewable power generation and operate in Brazil and Chile.

E.ON says some financial and legal steps still have to be carried out, but it expects all necessary steps to form the joint venture to be finalised by June and the deal to be completed in July.
