Dong hires telecoms boss Poulsen as new chief executive

Dong Energy has lured Henrik Poulsen – head of Denmark’s largest telecommunications company TDC – to become its new chief executive, as the world’s leading offshore wind developer looks to clear its name after firing Anders Eldrup last month.

Poulsen will take the reins by 1 November, at which time chief financial officer Carsten Krogsgaard Thomsen – presently acting as interim chief executive on top of his normal duties – will revert to his former role.

“We are pleased the process has gone so quickly,” says chairman Fritz Schur, as the company looks to put the tainted Eldrup era firmly in the rearview mirror.
