Mitsui
will
pay
an
undisclosed
sum
via
its
European
unit
for
its
share
in
GEG,
which
employs
more
than
4,000
and
has
offices
in
Aberdeen
and
Inverness.
Though
it
is
currently
mainly
focused
on
the
oil
and
gas
sector,
GEG
last
October
clinched
the
purchase
of
the
historic
Nigg
Yard
on
the
Cromarty
Firth.
The
company
says
it
wants
to
turn
the
238-acre
site
–
now
renamed
Nigg
Energy
Park
–
into
a
powerhouse
serving
Scotland’s
offshore
wind
and
marine
renewables
sectors.
