Irena's new leader at odds with UAE over nuclear power

The new head of the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) says the world should think again about nuclear power after Fukushima, placing him at odds with the body's hosts in the United Arab Emirates.

“I don’t want to use the misfortune of one place for the benefit of another issue,” says Adnan Amin, speaking at the end of Irena’s first assembly meeting in Abu Dhabi this week. “However, all over the world people are beginning to ask questions again, and [are] beginning to look at what the alternatives are,” he adds.
