Peru's Osinergmin tender receives 22 bids for renewables

Peru has received 22 bids for renewables projects in a tender organised by government agency Osinergmin, Recharge has learned.

Three solar facilities, five biomass plants and 14 small hydro projects were accepted. Two solar projects and three small hydro plants were not qualified to participate.

Osinergmin is seeking to contract additional alternative energy projects to complete a mandate that was not fulfilled by its first renewables tender in February.

The government is looking to contract 670GWh of biomass, 8GWh of solar power and 338MW of small hydropower.

Specific capacities and rate offers for the new proposals were not provided.
