REPower profits and revenues blown forward in 2008

German wind turbine manufacturer REpower Systems Group has reported a 50% surge in revenues for the first nine months of 2008-2009, and a 37% increase in profits.

REPower reports revenues rose to €842.9m in the period 1 April to 31 December 2008, up from €552.7m in the same period of the previous year. Operating profits before interest and tax (EBIT) lifted to €38.1m from €27.9m.

REPower says its orderbook contained sales contracts worth more than €1.6bn for 708 wind turbines by the end of December 2008 – with a total rated power of 1,5023 megawatts (MW).
