REpower blew past the €1bn ($1.35bn) sales milestone for the first time, raking in €1.2bn for the year. Earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) more than doubled to €76.9m.

The Hamburg-based firm installed or delivered 613 turbines with a combined rated power of 1.25 gigawatts (GW) — again roughly doubling its results from the year before.

Pedersen acknowledges that the two greatest fears nagging the wind-power industry — slumping turbine prices and a shortage of project finance — have not yet subsided.
