The two companies, along with micro-electronics giant STMicroelectronics will build a new factory that will produce triple-junction thin film photovoltaic panels in Catania, Italy. The plant is expected to have initial production capacity of 160 MW per year and is expected to expand to 480 MW over the coming years.
The factory will be built at the site of STMicroelectronics existing M6 facility, and will be the largest solar panel plant in Italy.
