Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says documentation submitted by Cape Wind Associates in support of its Construction and Operations Plan (COP) suggests that it could begin building the 468MW wind farm as early as this fall.
“This is a major milestone for the (US) offshore wind industry,” says Jim Lanard, president of Offshore Wind Development Coalition, an industry group.”This COP will serve as a guide for other offshore wind developers as they continue to actively pursue leases in the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Great Lakes.”
