The funds, which will be funneled through the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank-managed Clean Technology Fund, will enable Eskom to start construction in early 2012 at the 100MW Sere wind farm, and begin development of a 100MW solar-thermal project planned for Upington.

Further funding from multilateral financing institutions is expected for both projects.
