US wind technology group AMSC said last month that it is seeking damages via the commercial arbitration body over unpaid deliveries to Sinovel, China’s largest turbine manufacturer and previously its biggest customer.
In a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange today, Sinovel says it is counter-claiming compensation of 799m yuan over alleged breach of contract by AMSC.
After deducting 430m yuan for payment of goods – apparently accepting that it owes AMSC for the deliveries – Sinovel claims the US company should pay it 369m yuan.
