NextEnergy says the first investment by the private equity fund, called ix:Africa, will be to provide seed capital for a PV development in South Africa – currently hosting the COP17 climate summit in Durban.
London-based NextEnergy has begun canvassing investors for ix:Africa, which it describes as a "private equity impact fund" – one that aligns environmental and social benefits with financial returns.
