Bioenergy was a pioneer in successfully selling wind power on the unregulated market just ahead of Brazil’s 2009 federal tender.

It now appears to be trying to repeat the trick with PV, despite solar power being widely considered too costly to be attractive for large-scale use in Brazil at present.

Wind was also considered to be too expensive for the Brazilian market at the time, but today is the number one seller in the nation's regulated tenders, hitting rates of around R$100/MWh.

The
