By and large the report – published by the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee – backs up plans touted by Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond to transform Scotland’s economy on the back of its wind and water resources.
But it says that many adjustments are needed to the way the government approaches the target, which would see the country generate the equivalent of 100% of its power consumption from renewables by 2020.
