Last week, CPFL Renováveis agreed to pay R$1.06bn ($619m) for four operating wind farms with a total capacity of 157.5MW from operator BVP, owned by Brazilian energy investment fund FIP Brasil Energia, and Servtec Investimentos e Participações. The acquisition follows hard on the heels of purchases of several other projects.
Officially created in December, CPFL Renováveis was born out of CPFL Energia, an immense group that generates, distributes and sells power.
