The Danes will give the go-ahead to an additional 400MW at the Horns Rev offshore wind development in the North Sea and a new 600MW facility at Kriegers Flak in the Baltic.

The extra offshore wind capacity is needed as part of a wider push to reduce CO2 emissions by 34% by 2020 compared to 1990 levels, with more than 35% of energy consumption met by renewables.
