The contract is worth around €240m.

“This means Gwynt y Môr is now in a great position to drive ahead into offshore construction,” says RWE npower renewables’ Gwynt y Môr Project Director, Toby Edmonds.

RWE Innogy owns a 60% of the €2bn Gwynt y Môr project, while Stadtwerke München has 30% and Siemens has 10%. Siemens will provide the turbines and offshore transformer stations for the wind farm, and connect it to the grid.
