Spanish Grupo Clavijo has started work on installation of the plant’s trackers.

Halutziot, owned by Eurocom Group, an Israeli holding company, will cover an area of 6 sq km near the Negev Desert in southern Israel, and will deliver power to 55,000 local households, producing an estimated 110,000MWh per year.

Eurocom awarded EPC and operating and maintenance contracts to German engineering company M+W Group, and project shareholder Enlight Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Eurocom.

The Israel Electric Corporation has agreed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the electricity, delivered via a newly built substation.
