new
modular,
compact
plants
could
exploit
relatively
untapped
potential
in
Europe,
south
Asia
and
Latin
America.
Areva
wants
to
reduce
cost
and
construction
time
while
allowing
the
plants
to
use
a
greater
range
of
biomass
fuels.
The
French
group
is
part
of
a
consortium
working
on
the
project,
which
has
received
funding
support
from
European
technology
incubator
KIC
InnoEnergy.
Other
consortium
partners
include
waste
treatment
giant
SITA
and
Germany’s
Karlsruhe
Institute
of
Technology.
