“Biofuels will play an important role in America’s clean energy portfolio,” says Energy Secretary Steven Chu. “These projects will allow us to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, support the growth of the biofuels industry and create jobs here at home.”
The five projects selected for funding by DOE were considered as the best ones to stimulate design and demonstration of a comprehensive system to handle harvesting, collection, preprocessing, transport, and storage of sufficient volumes of sustainably produced feedstocks.
