RWE npower – the UK arm of the German giant – has just exported the first electricity from Tilbury Power Station since the fire forced its closure in February.
The first of three units at the Essex plant is now operating again, with the other two not expected to return to service until next month at the earliest after fuel hoppers are refitted.
