The president of the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (Creia) divides his time between many boards, research institutes and industry associations. He is also at a lot of conferences and networking events.

Nevertheless, Li is the go-to guy for journalists and industry alike. He is keenly sought out when any chief executive of a foreign manufacturer visits China. “Maybe it’s because I’m very honest. I don’t tell stories. I say what I really think,” says Li.
