Last week, India’s cabinet agreed to fund the first stage of its long-awaited National Solar Mission — a programme that sets Indian power companies and developers a goal of installing 20 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity by 2022.

“Chinese solar-panel-makers are very well positioned to sell into India’s market, at least until domestic companies ramp up. For the near to mid term, the Chinese will definitely hold a cost edge, as well,” writes Yonts in a research note.
