Vestas gets 220MW US order

Vestas has received a 220MW order for another 110 of its V100-2.0MW turbines from EDF Renewable Energy for two wind power projects in the US.

The order is a call off a master supply agreement announced in September for multiple projects in the US, the potential of which has now been increased from 750MW to 1.174GW, the company says.

Both projects, Hereford 1 and Longhorn North, are located in the Texas Panhandle.

Vestas in September had already announced an 80MW order for Longhorn North.

Deliveries and commissioning for both projects are expected in the second half of 2014.
