Vestas has received a firm order to supply wind turbines with a capacity of 350MW to Enel Green Power North America, with the potential for up to 636MW more to follow.

Thanks to the  massive order intake, Vestas is hiring more staff for its Colorado manufacturing sites.

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer will deliver 75 of its V100-2.0 MW turbines for the 150MW Origin wind farm in Oklahoma.

The other element of the 350MW firm order from EGP-NA is a 200MW delivery of 2MW machines to an as-yet-undisclosed project.

In addition, the two parties have agreed a conditional deal that could see another up-to 636MW worth of 2MW turbines supplied to EGP-NA in 2014 and 2015.

Deliveries for Origin are expected for mid-2014, with commissioning by Log in to read complete article.
