Gamesa had record 2012 in US

Gamesa commissioned a record 1.34GW of new US generating capacity in 2012, enabling it to garner a 10% share of the world’s second largest wind energy market, according to the Spanish company.

Last year it commissioned 674 turbines at 18 wind farms in 13 states.

Gamesa in 2011 commissioned 154MW, its worst showing here since 74MW in 2006, according to data compiled by the American Wind Energy Association. The company’s previous best year in the US was 616MW in 2008.

Gamesa entered the North American market in 2005. It has two manufacturing plants and corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania..
