FoundOcean nabs Duddon contract

FoundOcean has secured the grouting contract for the 108-turbine West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm going up in the Irish Sea.

The UK-based company will work under Dutch contractors VolkerStevin and Boskalis, which are responsible for getting the monopiles in place at the Dong- and Iberdrola-owned project.

Denmark’s Bladt Industries is supplying the monopiles and transition pieces through its framework agreement with Dong.

FoundOcean says it will use BASF’s Exagrout Masterflow 9500 material for the project – the same grout it intends to use at two other upcoming renewables projects on its books, Nordsee Ost and Gwynt y Mor.

FoundOcean anticipates performing the work between May and November, with the entire 389MW project…
