Kongsberg Maritime buys wind power consultancy InTurbine

Norwegian offshore technology specialist Kongsberg Maritime has bought compatriot renewable and wind power consultancy InTurbine.

The acquisition is designed to support the operations and expansion of Kongsberg’s recently-opened Centre for Wind Farm Management (CWFM).

“The employees of InTurbine have substantial competence gained at the former wind turbine supplier ScanWind and later as part of GE’s commitment to offshore wind in [Norway],” says Kongsberg Maritime general manager Andreas Jagtøyen.

“This acquisition will form a solid basis for further development of our new department within the operation and maintenance of wind turbines under the name Kongsberg Wind Services.”
