The Cristal plants use Siemens 2.3MW

Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power (EGP) has completed the final phase of its three-plant 90MW Cristal wind power complex in Morro do Chapéu, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, after a total investment of about €165m ($227m).

The newly-completed Cristal wind farm, which shares its name with the overall complex, is composed of 13, 2.3MW Siemens turbines.

EGP finished its first plant in Brazil – Primavera – in February, followed a month later by Cristal’s second stage, Sao Judas. All three wind farms have a capacity of 30MW.

With the addition of the latest wind farm, EGP’s total installed capacity in the country now exceeds 260MW, including more than 90MW of hydropower.
