30MW Atlântica IV spinning in Brazil

Brazil's power regulator authorised the start of commercial operations of the Atlântica IV, 30MW wind farm in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul from March 22.

Atlântica IV is controlled by Brazilian power company CPFL Renováveis.

The wind farm is part of the Atlântica complex with a total capacity of 120MW. It also includes Altântica I, II and V.

CPFL bought the complex in 2012, after it sold power in Brazil's 2010 state auction.
