bang

the
wind
industry
in
California
back
in
the
late
1970s”,
Gary
Hardke
tells

At
the
time,
Hardke
was
a
junior
lawyer
at
a
large
San
Diego
legal
firm
called
in
to
advise
on
leases
in
the
Tehachapi
Pass
area,
where
Cannon
developed
projects
throughout
the
1980s.
“The
industry
was
a
start-up.
The
company
was
a
start-up.
Nobody
had
ever
done
it
before,”
says
Hardke,
who
became
president
and
co-principal
with
Monkhouse
in
1999.
