Acciona bags 93MW Brazil order

Spanish wind group Acciona has signed a turbine supply deal for 93MW with a consortium of developers in Brazil.

Acciona Windpower will deliver 31 of its 3MW machines to wind farms jointly owned by Voltalia, Chesf and Encalso.

The deal includes a 15-year operation and maintenance agreement.

Acciona will mount the turbines – a mixture of its AW116/3000 and AW125/3000 models – on 120-metre concrete towers.

Acciona Windpower has now either supplied or booked orders for 423MW of its 3MW turbines in Brazil, said the Spanish group.

The company is due to open a nacelle plant in Brazil by the end of this year and already has a hub production facility up and running there.
