He has yet to announce replacements for Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lisa Jackson, while his recent choice of political novice Sally Jewell to head the Interior Department surprised solar and wind investors.
It’s been known for months that Chu, Jackson and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar had wanted to leave. But White House attention has been on Obama’s reelection, continuing budgetary battles in Congress, and winning Senate approval of former Senator John Kerry as secretary of state after a prior candidate withdrew.
