Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management revealed that it has acquired a 12.3% stake in SunEdison yieldco TerraForm Power and has entered swap agreements that may double its stake, in a sign that the chill still gripping the yieldco space may be starting to thaw.
The US, Canada and Mexico confirmed a target to collectively source half of their power from clean generation sources by 2025, and committed to supporting cross-border transmission projects that could open big opportunities for North American renewables developers in the years ahead.
