The Canadian province of Saskatchewan has set a 50% renewable power target for 2030, requiring a doubling of its current capacity, and set in motion both near- and longer-term competitive procurement rounds for new wind farms and other renewables projects.
Duke Energy has secured Google as the launch customer in a program in North Carolina that provides renewable energy to offset new load at facilities – in this case, 61MW of solar power for expansion of the internet giant’s data center there.
