Nordex wins 20MW Ireland order

Nordex received a 20MW order from Irish energy company ESB International to install the Woodhouse project in south eastern Ireland.

The German turbine manufacturer will supply five of its N100/2500 machines and three N90/2500 turbines to the wind park with moderate to strong wind conditions close to the town of Dungarvan.

The project will be built in autumn 2014. The contract includes a five year premium service contract.

“This marks a very encouraging continuation of our performance in this country and vindicates our strategy of working closely with our local customers,” says Nordex management board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard.

To date, Nordex has built four wind farms for ESB in Ireland with a combined capacity to generate 67.5MW of electricity. In Ireland, the turbine maker has already installed a total capacity of 340MW.
