Thanks to the massive order intake, Vestas is hiring more staff for its Colorado manufacturing sites.
The Danish wind turbine manufacturer will deliver75 of its V100-2.0 MW turbines for the 150MW Origin wind farm in Oklahoma.
The other element of the 350MW firm order from EGP-NA is a200MW delivery of 2MW machines to an as-yet-undisclosed project.
In addition, the two parties have agreed a conditional deal that could see another up-to 636MW worth of 2MW turbines supplied to EGP-NA in 2014 and 2015.
