Vestas remains upbeat about Australia's wind market

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas remains bullish about the Australian market.



The company continues to win major orders there, despite question marks over carbon pricing — the opposition says it will repeal the legislation if it wins the next federal election, due by November 2013 — and toughening macroeconomic conditions worldwide.

Ken McAlpine, Vestas’ Asia-Pacific director of policy and government relations, says that in spite of the company’s move to cut 2,300 jobs globally, business conditions in Australia remain robust.
