In 2009, a spat broke out between Germany's REpower and its majority owner, India's Suzlon, after REpower reportedly rejected a batch of 75 Suzlon blades and had stand-in blades delivered from Europe, losing €6m ($8m) in the process. Suzlon ultimately had to pay 1.7bn rupees ($37.3m) to retrofit more than 150 blades.
Whitelee at standstill after rotor blade snaps
Scotland's 322-megawatt (MW) Whitelee project - Europe's largest wind farm - was brought to a standstill after a rotor blade snapped off one of the Siemens-made turbines.
