London: Profits rose 8% at Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power in 2010, as revenues increased by 19.8% to €2.2 7 bn ($3.1 7 bn). Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose 8.8% to €1.31bn, while net profits were €452m, 8.1% up on 2009. Enel Green Power expanded its installed capacity by 1.3GW, up 27%, but the increase was mainly due to the 904MW of assets acquired in Iberia in its takeover of Endesa Cogeneracion y Renovables.
