BRISTOL: US concentrating solar power (CSP) developer SkyFuel has agreed to supply its SkyTrough parabolic-trough collectorsto India's Megha Engineering & Infrastructures for upcoming projects,. The companies' memorandum of understanding includes a 50MW array in the state of Andhra Pradesh earmarked under the first phase of the country's National Solar Mission. The SkyTrough concept, which uses a polymer-and-silver-layered mirror-film called Reflec-Tech instead of conventional glass mirrors, has been shown to have a thermal efficiency of more than 73% at 350¡C, meaning nearly three quarters of the solar radiation striking the trough is turned into thermal energy.
