Siemens to provide eight 3MW turbines for Klixbüll community wind farm

Siemens Energy has won an order for eight of its SWT-3.0-113 3MW direct drive wind turbines for an extension of the Klixbüll wind park in Northern Germany near the Danish border.

That will raise the installed capacity of the wind park owned by citizen cooperative Zweite Klixbüller Energie GmbH by 24MW to 39MW.

The order includes a 20-year maintenance contract.

Even in case of no wind an innovative feature to stabilize the grid by supplying wattless power assures additional profit to the project, Siemens says.
