Vestas has appointed Christoph Vogel as new group senior vice president and president of Vestas Central Europe.
Vogel starts in his new position on June 1. He was vice president and general manager at Johnson Controls before.
“Based on his experience, commitment and extensive accomplishments during his career, he is well qualified to secure the development of the significant central European market,” says Juan Araluce, chief sales officer at Vestas Wind System.
Vogel has held various leadership positions within Johnson Controls, Siemens and The Boston Consulting group before working as vice president and general manager of global work place solutions life sciences at Johnson Controls in the US.
Vogel succeeds interim Vestas Central Europe president Klaus Steen Mortensen, who will continue in his role as president of Vestas Northern Europe.
Former Vestas Central Europe chief Hans Joern Rieks, meanwhile, is being investigated by Denmark’s Public Prosecutor in relation to allegedly fraudulent behaviour during his time in office.
