E.ON pulls Rampion application

E.ON Climate & Renewables has taken back its recently submitted application for the Round 3 Rampion offshore wind farm along the southern coast of England, with the intention of giving itself more time for consultation with concerned parties.

E.ON handed in its application for Rampion in December, four months later than it had originally hoped. But according to the website PlanningResource, the German power giant has now sent a letter to the UK’s Planning Inspectorate requesting that the application be temporarily withdrawn.

E.ON reportedly uncovered “certain omissions” in one section of the application relating to the responsibility a developer has to consult with relevant parties.

The company intends to resubmit the application as soon as it is ready, and remains committed to building Rampion as quickly as possible.
