NET pulls back curtain on first small-scale SolarWindow PV cell

US solar technologist New Energy Technologies (NET) is unveiling the first small-scale prototype of its see-through SolarWindow PV cell.

The technology generates electrical power from glass spray-coated with an organic PV reactive material that works as negative polar contact in the solar-cell circuit.

NET’s patent-pending process works at room temperature, eliminating expensive high-temperature or high-vacuum production methods commonly used by solar manufacturers.

“We’re eager to demonstrate how far we have come in developing the first-ever technology of its kind with the potential to radically change the way in which we power the estimated 80 million detached homes and five million commercial buildings in America, and throughout the world,” says NET chief executive Log in to read complete article.
