Spurred by fast-rising industrial and residential electricity demand, the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) countries have seen a 30% compound annual growth rate in renewables since 2000 and are on track to hit more than 8GW of installed capacity by the end of 2015 — up from 3GW today — with wind alone expected to add a total of 20GW by 2020.
