The southeast province is usually hit by a few typhoons each year, forcing developers to put greater emphasis on turbine quality than in other parts of the country.
That has generated a flow of orders to global leader Vestas, which claims a market-leading share with 598MW of the province’s 1.6GW installed capacity.
The Danish giant recently installed a 50MW project on Pingtan island for Fujian Investment, one of four wind farms it is building in the province this year.
