The Regional Growth Fund grant will kick-start the company’s £50m United Downs geothermal project, which is expected to produce electricity for the UK National Grid from a 10MW plant, as well as operating a renewable heat-generating facility.
The output of the fully-operational United Downs plant would supply electricity to 20,000 homes and enough renewable heat for the equivalent of 20 schools.
