Mechanical work has now finished at the San Jacinto-Tizate plant and final commissioning is due to be completed in December.
The new capacity will add to the 10MW Ram is already operating at the plant. A second expansion phase is due to bring San Jacinto-Tizate up to 72MW by the end of 2012.
Nevada-based Ram has a 634MW portfolio of geothermal projects on its books in the US, Canada and Latin America.
