The Washington-based body says the funds will be used to help Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) – a subsidiary of state-owned oil & gas group Pertamina – expand existing projects to reduce Indonesia’s reliance on coal generation.

By 2015 projects backed by the finance will add about 110MW at Ulubelu in South Sumatra and 40MW at Lehendong in North Sulawesi, the World Bank says.
